In light of the threats posed by current and projected environmental changes, interest in the impacts of similar changes on past societies has increased dramatically. By studying past examples, we can analyze ‘complete experiments’ of human-environment interactions, with the hope of uncovering lessons for the present and future.

This novel project aims to develop a digital application for mapping and monitoring urban trees and their root systems, with the goal of supporting healthy tree growth in our cities.
The Advanced School for Environmental Studies aims to equip the next generation of leading researchers, along with leaders in the business and public sectors, with the tools to bring about an environmentaly sustainable reality. Spread across six study tracks, the 150+ Master's and PhD students in the School for Advanced Environmental Studies learn to confront wide-ranging issues from an inter-disciplinary and international perspective. More than 100 Hebrew University faculty members are associated with the Graduate School.
